I’m overjoyed to have won my first poetry-related thing (other than the hearts and minds of literally tens of people).
Look, it says it here in grey and blue.
A huge thank you to the readers of the excellent Algebra of Owls for voting Hearing Things their favourite poem for Jan – March. I look forward to drinking my coffee from my AoO mug.

I must, must, must put in a shout for the editor’s choice poem, A Place on the Sofa by Lesley Burt. I say this not because I have to, but because I want to. It’s got a bit of everything in there and if you can’t fall in love with the phrase “prickle bare” then you’re dead inside.
As ever, there are so many wonderful poems on AoO. Go, seek them out and fall in love with them.
In other news, I’d really love to be able to take three years off work to do this:
Two things I love in a place I love. Please boss, can I have a three year paid sabbatical.
